I honestly fail to see how or why this argument should influence
a company.  If you could some how point out how becoming associated
with MySQL might be bad for SAP you might make some progress. 

Remember this DB costs a lot of money to maintain and improve. 

What might do some good is for the community to be willing to 
pay SAP a registration fee, 500 USD/box for example, for things
you make money off of.  You would not get any rights for extra 
support but you would help fund something that makes you money.
You might get a sapdb supporter png file for your web pages though.

So what do you thing about the sapdb paypal fund?
