Hi David,
you should add a data volume if the filling of your
data area is always above the threshold of 85 percent.

In general this is a good rule-of-thumb. If your
applications often terminates with error code
-904 respl. -907 it should be another hint to expand
the data area size.

You can check the filling via DBMGUI or the system view
SERVERDBSTATISTICS (columns: PCTUSEDPERM + PCTUSEDTMP
respl. PCTUNUSED).

Subject: When to add data volume?

Hi,

Can anyone give me any guidelines on when I should add a data volume - ie
when is the database considered too full?

eg based on UNUSED pages? PercentageUsed?

Would appreciate any advice.

Cheers,

David
