Hi,

this sounds indeed a little bit, well, strange.
Please do a
ls -l /usr/sapdb/duallogs/cmndb/LOG_001
which could show what kind of file/link this may be.
It is NO pipe/rawdevice/file/directory. But what else???
Perhaps a link pointing to nowhereland?

And please check the knldiag, which perhaps let you/us know
if there was a simple warning (access denied or the like) around.
