in case you are an SAP customer please use SAP's OSS for reporting problems.
 
Unfortunately knldiag did not contain useful information, as it is overwritten when the database is restarted. Do you find any useful error messages in knldiag.err? You could also reproduce the error and save knldiag immediately afterwards.
 
Are you backing up onto a shared directory (/samba/...)? Do you have the same problems if you back up onto a local directory?

thx for your e-mail. i located the files in /sapdb/data/wrk/E12/* and did a copy for you. i hope u can find the failure cause i cannot backup my db ...
