Hello,Hello, I must say I am very disappointed to hear that SAPDB will be going under a commercial licence. It will mean I have to change to PostgreSQL. I have been developing a Java J2EE web application that I plan to sell to very small companies (for a very small fee) that need some basic CRM and business work flow management software.
As part of the deal I supply the hardware and software, installed on site and maintain it. My software is "dependant upon SAPDB" and cannot be used without it. My software is "not open source", therefore (if the current MySQL pricing is used) I need to spend USD$220 per installation under the MySQL commercial license agreement. The cost to install my software including the hardware to run it on is just over 800 US dollars. As a percentage that is a huge increase for my customers to bare. So beware the MySQL Open Source commercial license! Regards, Aaran Stent [EMAIL PROTECTED] I must say I am very disappointed to hear that SAPDB will be going under a commercial licence.
