You'd better invest your 'time and energy' in truly free DataBase Servers (PostgreSQL, FireBird). As they improve SapDB will be less and less critical.

i am new to databases and to SAPDB. I shall invest my time and energy in learning and applying SAPDB only if it will NOT bind me to license requirements, and things like that. Will SAPDB remain truely open and free, or are there any catches.
