I have (finally) successfully installed SAPDB 7.4 on the third machine that I tried, a laptop running Windows 2000 Professional. The installation was quick, easy and without any flaw. The other two machines that failed previously had unsuccessful SAPDB 7.3 installations, as well as Oracle 8i/9i installations.
>From the laptop all the SAPDB tools appear to be working very nicely, and I am playing with the demo database for the first time, after beginning this process about one month ago. Late last night I sent a very large email to the listserv, with the complete contents of every possible SAPDB diagnostic file for the RedHat 9 server. The message is pending review by the moderator due to it's size. I hope that someone is looking at the information. I very much want to get the other two machines running SAPDB properly. Now that SAPDB works on the laptop I can see its value. The RedHat machine is running webdbm. If someone would like to connect to it, with the intention of debugging the installation, contact me and I will supply a user id and password.
