Hi! Michael - to be honest I really don't understand what your problem is. I have read this whole thread (especially post authored by Elke) and have found nothing offensive or hostile. Instead of blame someone for non-direct answers and accusing her/him of being impolite you'd better start reading the archive of this list and RTFM. I use SAP DB for 2 years - and for that time I'm the member of this list. And it IS a little boring to see the same questions repeated every month, just because the newbie's are too lazy to look into the manuals and archives. Elke and other people from SAP AG make great work here - when there's a real problem it is almost sure they take interest in it. Of course - as you probably know- this list, and the SAP's folks activity is something what you get for free and without any guarantee. Despite the fact the support quality and level in my opinion is very high. Just my 0,02$.
