Hello Martin, it's not a bug, it's a feature :(.
user_getall lists only the DBM user from the file dbm.upc. Those users are not a part of a database backup. After a migration like yours, you have to recreate the DBM user, e.g. using dbmcli. I've read that I have to backup my database and to restore it without this special log volume. But there I've got in troubles: After the restore I lost my db-users. I did the following steps using the graphical database manager (7.4.3.10). The database is sapdb version 7.3.0.40 (rpm-package). (I have to use version 7.3) 1. I did a complete data backup of the original database (TST) (migration withchekpoint). 2. Instance->Install I chose another name for testing the restore (TSTTEMP2). The user I chose was sapdb. (That's the user running the sapdb.) 3. Database Users: I created (I thought I did create ;-) the users dbm and dba. 4. Parameter initialisation: Restore parameters from a backup medium I created a medium with the same location as the original backup of database TST. 5. Parameters: I adjusted the two paths in "RUNDIRECTORY" and "DIAG_HISTORY_PATH" to fit the new name. 6. Volumes: The same here for the volumes 7. Installation mode: Install instance for restore 8. Install: The two users dbm and dba are displayed in the window but only dbm is created: > dbmcli -d TSTTEMP2 -u dbm,dbm user_getall OK DBM 9. I did not put the database online. 10. Restore a medium - the medium created in step 4 is available so I choose it 11. Restore is okay - Restart the database 12. Database is online - only user dbm is visible using the GUI, same with dbmcli: > dbmcli -d TSTTEMP2 -u dbm,dbm user_getall OK DBM So my question is: How do I recover the users? Is there anything wrong I did? Is there something else missing?
