I can tell you that in the case of SuSE 8.1 professional, you must run "yast2 -i compat" before installing SAPDB. Try that on SLES8.
I have published an article about installing SAPDB on SuSE 8.1, a step-by-step guide, it is in spanish, but maybe you can follow it by the bash scripts: http://java.megaserv.com/sapdb-quickstart.pdf Best Regards, Martin Cordova http://java.megaserv.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dmitry Melekhov" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2003 11:43 PM Subject: Problem installing of SAP to SLES8 > Hello! > > I just downloaded latest SAP DB for Linux and want to install it on SLES8. > > Here is what I get: > > > > backup:/var/local/files/sapdb # backup:/var/local/files/sapdb # rpm -ivh > sapdb-ind-7.4.3.27-1.i386.rpm > sapdb-ind > ################################################## > > > And it stays forever. > > And there are such processes : > > backup:/var # ps aux |grep sap > root 32009 1.0 0.4 6360 2492 pts/5 S 08:46 0:01 rpm -ivh > sapdb-ind-7.4.3.27-1.i386.rpm > sapdb 32049 0.0 0.3 4760 1740 pts/5 S 08:46 0:00 su - -c > /opt/sapdb/indep_prog/bin/x_server start sapdb > sapdb 32050 0.0 0.1 2784 740 pts/5 S 08:46 0:00 > /opt/sapdb/indep_prog/bin/x_server start > sapdb 32065 0.0 0.1 2692 940 pts/5 S 08:46 0:00 > /opt/sapdb/indep_prog/pgm/vserver start > sapdb 32066 0.0 0.1 2580 700 pts/5 S 08:46 0:00 > /opt/sapdb/indep_prog/pgm/niserver > sapdb 32067 0.0 0.2 2644 1184 pts/5 T 08:46 0:00 > /opt/sapdb/indep_prog/pgm/niserver > root 32092 0.0 0.1 1576 532 pts/6 S 08:48 0:00 grep sap > > > Any ideas? > > > _______________________________________________ > sapdb.general mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://listserv.sap.com/mailman/listinfo/sapdb.general > _______________________________________________ sapdb.general mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listserv.sap.com/mailman/listinfo/sapdb.general
