Hello all, I am from Adelaide and am working with a small team on a start up. Essentially it is an online tendering platform where people can find qualified experts to assist with preparing plans/reports and obtaining permits/approval for residential development. This can vary from building a new home, extending an existing, or subdividing an allotment, as just a few common examples (our current test environment is at http://plannerbuilder.herokuapp.com). I have attached a document that provides a fairly basic outline of what we’re doing (business wise). Since pushing out our new launch page, we’ve had over 100 expert pre-launch sign ups over the past week. Not going to match DropBox by any margin, but based on our payment model, this is a healthy start.
To put it frankly, we’re sick to death of outsourcing work through ODesk and other online freelancing sites. We’re currently searching for our third developer (first developer wasn't as skilled as we'd hoped and we didn’t do our due diligence, the second has done a great job but has had to move onto another full time job mid-way through fixing some CORS issues). As we have just been accepted into a Commercialisation Accelerator Program at Adelaide University, we really want to bring our web development back to Australia - particularly Adelaide. It also makes it much easier to collaborate in real time and face-to-face where needed. We’re looking at trying to get our MVP finished and it’s probably only got a month to go. This is a necessity for us to be able to seek funding out of our current program. Just wondering whether you’d be interested in meeting, or if you’re all caught up with other projects, you may be able to recommend another good Django developer. Preferably we’re looking for an equity partner, but happy to consider other options as well. Also, the skills base we’re looking for - Django, Heroku, Postgres, S3, CORS, South, Crispy-forms, django-storages, imagekit, social authentication, jQuery, jQuery UI, jquery-file-uploader, jquery-colorbox, jquery-bxslider, Bootstrap, Less, and Font Awesome.
