Chris,
To be honest, I haven't tested it in a while but it does look like you might
have identified an issue. I know there were some pre Django 1.0 changes to
the way files are handled and that looks like the first bug you've
identified.
I'm not sure about your other issue. Please put in a ticket to trac and
we'll look at it.
