Keep it separate from Satchmo's. I usually keep my static folder on
the same level as my django's app & my templates:


my-django-project
       |
       |- static
            |-css
            |-js
            |-images
       |
       |- my-django-app (or my satchmo store app)
       |
       |- my templates (all your templates and the one you overrided
over satchmo's)
       |
       |- settings.py
       |
       |- urls.py
