Looks like something broke it in Django trunk. I am getting the same error with Django SVN-11268 but was not getting it with SVN-10865
I'm not sure what backwards incompatible changes might have happened or other change that's causing the issue. I'm not sure I'll be able to check it out right now but hopefully it's not too difficult to figure out what changed and might be causing the issue. Thanks for posting the bug report.
