thanks chris.  that is essentially what i did.  in fact, i was able to
create 3 types of products (donation types) and two of them have
variations that allow you to: 1) donate to your favourite fraternity
or sorority; 2) donate to an athletics booster club.

kind of a chapuza, but i have customised the cart template to include
these 3 donation products on it so that you can select your donations
all from one page and then continue on to make the payment.  the
donation products are hard coded, which means i have to touch the
templates if we add or substract greek organisations or athletics
booster clubs, but they rarely if ever change, so this is not such a
big deal.  i will post back to the group once it is live.
