While I'm still not sure wether or not {{shop_base}} is working as
intended, I'm beginning to suspect it is. Rather than using
{{shop_base}} I'm now using {% url satchmo_shop_home %}. This works
and is probably the proper way to do things.
I hope this helps somebody with the same issue
