Ok. I figured out the problem. Try adding the following line to the imports in your /satchmo/apps/product/models.py file: import config
I was able to reproduce the error and this solved it. The reason I didn't see it in my setup is that some of the ext apps call product.config which was causing it to get imported. If you didn't have them in your installed apps, then the config values weren't loaded and you'd see the errors. Please confirm if this solved the problem.
