My recommendation would be to look at the satchmo management command:
satchmo_load_store -
http://www.bitbucket.org/chris1610/satchmo/src/tip/satchmo/apps/satchmo_store/shop/management/commands/satchmo_load_store.py

It should be fairly straightforward to take a csv or xml file and do a mass
create of products into satchmo using the above program as a guide.
