I'm not out of the woods on this one yet. I have a path to breakage.
Could someone please try to duplicate?
Steps to reproduce:

1) create a new product; save and continue editing
2) observe that 'Add ConfigurableProduct' and 'Add ProductVariation'
links at bottom of product change form both work
3) use 'Add ConfigurableProduct' link and associate an option group
with the product (do not check 'Create Variations'); save and continue
editing
4) click 'Variation Manager' link and observe that it works
5) in Variation Manager, use checkboxes to create some variations;
click 'update variations'
6) observe NoReverseMatch error (Reverse for 'product_product_change'
with arguments '(<variation's product_id>,)' and keyword arguments
'{}' not found.)
7) go back to admin home -> "Configurable Products"
8) locate and click on the configurable product we've been dealing with
9) observe TemplateSyntaxError caused by same NoReverseMatch error above.
