Well, just to keep updating with current breakthroughs, and hopefully to help other people googling, here's the latest bit
At first, the HTTP_AUTHORIZATION headers weren't being passed through mod_wsgi. That was fixe by editing my httpd.conf and adding this line: WSGIPassAuthorization On Then, I discovered a little later on that there are 3 options for Google Checkout to send notifications through: 1. Notification Serial Number 2. Notification as XML 3. Notification as HTML (name/value pairs) Currently, Satchmo only supports 'Notification as HTML'. While I don't see a pressing reason to support 'Notification as XML', 'Notification Serial Number' might be worth implementing as that does not require the shop to have an SSL certificate. Currently, on my store, Google Checkout is the only component requiring an SSL certificate (We're doing payments through Google checkout and PayPal only, for now). I hope this helps people in the future, and when I'm finished with this I'll open a ticket with some new documentation for Google Checkout.
