Please check that in ur custom store project settings file (settings.py) you have mentioned :
ROOT_URLCONF = 'my_customstore.urls' Also, to over-ride the template, you have to place the corresponding templates in the same directory structure (and also same name), in your project's templates directory. - Sachin.
