I am getting an error when using a category discount, "This discount cannot be applied to the products in your cart". I'll get my thoughts written here in case any one else has this issue.

This causes the product.models.Discount._valid_products_in_categories() method to only return your parent products as valid for discounts. So I see a couple options for now: 1. Set the category on product variations and update your template logic to filter them out. 2.
