UPS module is based on weight and you forgot weight units for some
products.
The easiest for you is:
UPDATE product_product SET weight_units='what you want' WHERE
weight_units is null;
Then you can customize admin to give smart initial weight unit for you
or customize your UPS to can use UPS easy.

Shipping module UPS does rely on the weight and dimension data you
have entered for your products. If you have not entered the weight,
then the module will not display any choices..."
Read more docs and think what can be improved. Code looks easy and
very simple.
