Interesting: the first reply that I received on the lfs mailing list was quite
similar. I guess, that I will understand this approach as soon as I realized
the full amount of  difficulties involved in adapting satchmo (or lfs) to
the requirements of my task.

Thank you for your answer. Now I feel confident that I won't follow the wrong
track when diving into satchmo for the first time.
