In the unlikely event that a member of Saturday House doesn't know
what the One Laptop Per Child program is, please go here:
http://laptop.org/

Last year during the Give One, Get One program, my extended family
were Give 5, Get 5 donors. :) My wife and I bought two, and my
sister-in-law's family bought three XO laptops: two for the adults and
one for her stepdaughter. The adults still love their XOs, but the
stepdaughter has moved back to Oregon and left hers behind, so they
have it for sale.

If you bought an XO from the Give One, Get One program now, you'd be
paying $400 -- but of course you'd be donating a laptop to a kid in a
developing country. If you want to do that, that's great -- I
encourage it. (See the link above; G1G1 starts up again on 17 Nov.) If
you just want a cheap, weatherproof Linux laptop that's great for
reading ebooks, and you don't mind that the "give one" part of this
G1G1 transaction is already taken care of, email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
or call 206-201-1768 and we'll arrange a rendezvous.
