Hi,

we've thought about this approach as well and decided to not use it. The 
reason is simply that it would needlessly duplicate the translations for 
*every* single entry in the database. Even if we only use a translation for 
the label, it would require quite a lot of storage.

Having thought about this issue again, I had an idea with a much smaller 
memory footprint -- however, I need to think a little bit more about it 
before discussing it in public.

Well, my first guess is that those examples are from a time long ago when 
Savane did not support translations at all. In other words, you've just 
found two bugs in the code. Those texts should be marked for translations 
as well, just as any other text in the source. I'll fix that soon.
