However, guesss this is the proper place to report... I've added a user www-data, in order to allow provate projects to include him on request in order to allow cvsweb for private projects. Savannah detected that user as being below (guess) 50 and deleted that guy together with the group www-data. Apache will run on until logrotate restarts him..... BTW, the backend now create groups with gid > 4999. ------------------------------------------------------- Date: mar 22.06.2004 à 13:10 By: Mathieu Roy <yeupou> So apparently the test (!exists($db_user_group{$user}) || $db_user{$user}->[5] eq 'D') got true, while it should not. Was www-data member of a group (hum, it looks so...) ------------------------------------------------------- Date: sam 13.03.2004 à 17:02 By: Mathieu Roy <yeupou> Hum, that's weird, I have clearly no idea about the possible cause of trouble. I'll look into that by trying to manage the www-data via a savane account on test install. ------------------------------------------------------- Date: mer 03.03.2004 à 15:27 By: Marcus Hardt <marcus> Sorry, I'm on high load and producing packet loss... If the guy got deleted along with the group, it should be because the group and user in your savane installation has been marked as Deleted. Normally Savane keep untouched preexisting account. What could happen is that you created this Savane user called www-data, the backend noticed he was not member of any project and got it deleted on the system. But the group should be deleted if no group with that name was created or was created but is still active. One possibility is the fact that the backend ran while the group was in creation, Pending, and remove the group on the system because of that. But anyway, it should recreate both user and group, unfortunately with inaccurate ids. Normally, the backend logs everything it does. Can you provide appropriate logs messages?
