The version that got PHP calling() is exim 3.36.

The version that deal with mailman is exim 4.44.

Whatever PHP and exim may do, this problem still only occurs with
mailman. So at some point, mailman must do something. It would not be
sensible to mess with exim setup unless there is valid ground to blame
exim for the bug.
