Follow-up Comment #4, bug #2048 (project savane):
For the record :)
1) setting up a transition that CC: people does only work once: you are
notified of the post, but of the follow-ups.
2) other buggy solution:
+ 'private' category
+ transition to this 'private' category when privacy is set to private
+ category-specific notification set to a private mailing list.
That doesn't work either, because the category transition is ignored when the
initial post sets a category. For example is the user choses "Developer web
cvs" then it won't be moved to 'Private' and will stay in "Develop web cvs",
so without notification.
Besides, 'Private' is not a category, semantically speaking, so I loose the
category information with this method.
So the _only_ way not to miss notifications is to get all mails to both your
private and public lists. Deal with it.
This is not the "most sensible approach" IMHO.
In the 'Cc leak' example, if somebody adds explicitely a public list, then
that's the user's problem. It could be any public list.
Perhaps private items should have the "Cc" feature at all, in fact. But
whatever the method, dumb user will continue to make private information
public (forwarding, blog...).
When I don't further comment you may assume I agree but I am more likely
tired of arguying :)
