That sounds unlikely.
Can you provide more info so I can try and reproduce the issue:
- uname -a
- using chroot?
- glibc patched there? how?
- getent group group_name
- getent passwd | grep user_name
- SVN access method (svn://, ssh+svn:// ?)
- cd .../working_copy && svn info
- su - user_name -c "id"
- other things you can think of :)
