unix accounts are not exactly "logging you have little control over". I
suspect it is one of the most complete available logging option nowadays.
I'm not sure to get how you'll achieve something more secure without
using unix accounts using ssh. Doing that in a secure fashion would
probably mean much more work than even ajaxifying Savane code!

It is actually not really complicated anymore nowadays.

That's not my point. I was simply pointing out that if you can run SVN,
you can have Perl, and as such, Savane dependancy is perfectly bearable.

That's not actually "being used outside of it's scope". That's just
features that are not part of it.
Also, about "multihosting", you can already run how many Savane
installation you want with apache virtual host, sharing the same single
code base, it's very trivial, you just have to point out to distinct
conffiles.
