Details:

Savannah.conf.pl says (sorry, I've already plugged in some local replacements
of the defaults):

****************
    ## MAIL, MAILING-LIST ##

      # Mail domain, admin mail address, default replyto, mail address list,
      # mail aliases:
      # Ex: "gnu.org", "savannah-hackers", "nobody", "/etc/email-addresses,"
      # "/etc/aliases"
      our $sys_mail_domain="savane.mydomain.com";
      our $sys_mail_admin="savane";
      our $sys_mail_replyto="nobody";
      # our $sys_mail_list="";
      # our $sys_mail_aliases="";
****************

1) Why would reply-to default to "nobody"? That seems kind of useless.
2) What are $sys_mail_list and $sys_mail_aliases?? $sys_mail_list is list of
what addresses, for what purpose? And why would savane need to know where the
system-wide aliases file is? What will be the result of setting these - will
some options be enable that wouldn't be otherwise? What will be the result
of NOT setting them - will some functionality be lacking?
3) What if the local mail system doesn't use an aliases file, but some other
mechanism?
