Hello!

This is a kind of presentation message, now that the project is
growing in members. If you take a look at the list's archives,
you'll see there's no savane-doc discussions going on- The
explanation is that I have been the only active group member up to
now, so there wasn't much need to discuss things...

I'll explain a bit about myself and the project. I am not a savane
expert, I started the project as an assignment for a degree I was
studying at a spanish university. I was supposed to install and
configure savane, which seemed like a daunting task given there was
no documentation beyond the INSTALL.verbose file. So I thought it
would be really good to contribute by turning my assignment into the
savane-doc project, and making the record of my test installation
into an installation guide.

I thought not being an expert would't be a problem for writing basic
docs, so that is what I set out to do. Writing guides that would be
useful to get a savane installation working, for users with basic
knowledge of the services involved.

The savane and savane-doc projects are therefore independent, and
have different group members and admins.

What to do next? Now that we have two new members, it'd be nice to
review the docs, discuss what should be made clearer... Stanton has
already been giving his opinions, although in the savane project
pages, but I think we should retake the issues, and see what we all
think.

It would also be great to have another guide tackling more in-depth
production-oriented issues, but I don't have the knowledge or
experience to takle that.

Regards,
Irene
