fencepost, the GNU Project shell server, has suffered a catastrophic hardware failure, resulting in total filesystem corruption. The FSF sysadmins are currently in the process of migrating to a new machine and restoring the filesystem from backups. We are hoping this process will be completed in 6-12 hours.
