Hello, I'd like to help with https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?107077, ("bzr+ssh:// preferable to sftp://"). That is, I'd like to make the Bazaar smart server [1] available for GNU developers, in particular the maintainers of GNU Emacs.
I've read http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/HowToBecomeASavannahHacker, and http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/SavannahArchitecture. I've also subscribed to this list. The next steps I'd like to take are: 1) Reopen SR #107077 (it's currently marked "closed", yet has much recent discussion and planning). 2) With bzr developer Robert Collins, write up a plan for exactly how to provide Bazaar bzr+ssh:// access securely on Savannah. This will involve taking various steps mentioned in SR #107077. Start at https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?107077#comment20 and read upwards if you're curious. 3) Implement the plan from (2) once it's approved here. I can start on (2) right away, but I need someone to give me magic bits to do (1), and some more magic bits later to do (3). Please tell me what I should be doing to get those magic bits. -Karl [1] http://doc.bazaar.canonical.com/bzr.2.1/en/admin-guide/simple-setups.html#smart-server
