Category: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Summary: support for IceWM environment By: gicco Date: Fri 09/26/2003 at 14:06 Logged In: YES user_id=23534 Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en; Stable) Gecko/20021106 Beonex/0.8.1-stable I'm frequently using Knoppix as a rescue-CD for copying disks or running dmesg on BG-only systems. I'm used to Icewm. It's login time is way faster than KDE and also considarably faster then the login of Gnome. So for me it's also preferable for a rescue sytem. I've tried to learn 'screen' but don't use it regularly. So Icewm is still preferable to me. Knoppix has Icewm 1.2.7 without gkrellm or xosview to see wheather someting is going on as of CPU, disk or net. Unfortunatly with Icewm 1.2.7 the keyboard handling with menus is not very lucky. It is much better in 1.2.8. Thus I would appreciate a Gnoppix-CD with Icewm 1.2.8 or later including also gkrellm and/or xosview. Also nice would be a beep2 or beep3 script which beeps two or three times in order to denote a lengthy operation.
