Hi Bruce,
You need to enable git as a service in the "Select Features" page of your
project
(https://savannah.nongnu.org/project/admin/editgroupfeatures.php?group=complexity)
Once you enable git a cronjob will run within thirty minutes, which will
actually create your repository.
