as bob says, it's not possible ... unless there is "svn over cvs" in the way
there is other "x over y" vc systems.
i don't think there's anything to gained in bringing it up on savannah lists
(which is all the same people that are reading this ticket anyway), it's
already a well known issue by everyone at savannah and the fsf. in short, it's
not a simple thing to change, it's not a high priority, and it won't be done
in the foreseeable future. such is life.
