Good idea, I'll tell the others to turn off the cgit snapshots. It is suitable
for some situations where you have a small git repo (short and simple history)
and want to download a working tree in a browser without using the command
line.

You certainly should not use it as a distro maintainer, for many reasons.

Yes, I agree, but you should tell the org mode maintainers mailing list ;D

FYI, archlinux aur has some recipes that sometimes skip verifying checksums,
but it may not be ideal for gentoo to do so.
