In my opinion, your project should be released under the GNU GPL and the
documentation under GNU FDL. I think your projet is a free software and
should be released as a free software, so under the GNU GPL.
Additionnaly, <We have designed this License in order to use it for manuals
for free software> This is your case ! Your project is not only documentation
and you can release the documentation under the GNU FDL.
