Hm, but the package you've provided is already licensed under GNU GPL v2+.
You cannot just take it and release under other license, though free software.
One of the points of using GPL is to make sure derivative works are licensed
under GPL and no other license.
I believe that you only can stick with GPLv2+ or re-license under GPLv3+.
