==== Description: ====
FriBID is a browser plugin for BankID, which is a kind of an electronic id
that's used in Sweden. BankID relies on a proprietary/secret
Javascript/xmldsig interface which is only implemented by the proprietary
client (BankID Säkerhetsprogram/Nexus Personal). I've reverse-engineered the
interface by studying the data that was sent through it and written a free
client (that's FriBID).

Presently FriBID only implements a subset of the functionality that BankID
provides (file-based certificates). Card-based certificates and certificate
creation/renewal is not yet implemented.

FriBID is written in C, uses the GTK and NSS libraries, and the
NPAPI/NPRuntime plugin interface. It has been tested on Firefox 3 and
Iceweasel 3/3.5.

==== Other Software Required: ====

==== Other Comments: ====
I already have a web site and domain name for this project (In Swedish,

list functions at Savannah.
