Hello anonymous -- this isn't a savannah issue. You should send the
suggestion to bug-diffutils (@) gnu.org.
However, there's certainly no chance that such options will be implemented
quickly, even if the suggestion is accepted. For your purposes, I would
generate file lists with find, and exclude the symlinks and special files that
way, instead of just doing diff -r.
