There is no way for a human to beat BG except through pure luck. I spent a year taking GE's Six Sigma course on statistical process control and statistical analysis is being used to operate the engine of BG and it is impossible for a human to analyze the game without a computer. When this kind of advantage is taken, it cannot be considered anything but cheating. In other words, GNU Backgammon was designed to make sure that no one can beat it.
