For my IT friends who work with Microsoft Products and utilize TechNet or want to help out with saving TechNet Subscriptions please sign this petition.... This is a huge deal for IT professionals who work for small companies or are acting alone in a support capacity.
The real irony here, is that many years ago I had a conversation with Steve Ballmer (then the VP of MS) while he was here in Minneapolis and we spoke about the ability to have a paid version of TechNet that would offer more software to help It professionals. At the time, TechNet only really included beta applications and not released products. They came up with TechNet Plus (which is what is was called back then) and during this conversation Mr. Ballmer had his notepad out and was actively writing my suggestions down which really left an impression on me. Within a year, the new subscription plan was up and running. So in one small way or another, I actually feel I had a hand in this services beginnings and I still use it to this day.
