I just wanted to make sure that the issue of tag recoding eventually becomes clean. I understand that toots' ongoing work is only ongoing and that he might already have this in mind. Currently, if I understand well, ocaml-id3tag always return an UTF8. It tries to guess the encoding using a a default list of guesses. Ocaml- vorbis also returns UTF8, and doesn't even have to guess anything. I don't think ocaml-mp3id3 will ever be used again. (1) Liquidsoap does some tag recoding on the output of id3tag, using a configurable list of guesses. This is now useless if all tag modules return UTF8. We might agree to remove that system.
