Ok. Got it. The variable is filled in liquidsoap/m4/detect_binding.m4. The
faultive line (76) is
BINDING()_version=`cat "${with_[]binding()_dir}/META" | grep version | cut
-d'=' -f 2 | tr -d ' ' | tr -d '"'`
It fails here because the META of ocaml-duppy contains both the version for
duppy and the version for the subpackage duppy.syntax. These kind of hacks were
bound to fail someday...
