Samuel Mimram commented on LS-563:
----------------------------------

Glad to see that you are interested :) I will do the poll on the ML. Concerning
the current documentation, the idea is to start by concatenating all the
current website docs and then elaborating from there. Unfortunately, the way it
should be presented in a book is very different than from a website (we want
everything to be consistent and linear in the book) so I'm afraid that we will
have to keep the two separated...

> Recently, many efforts have been put into cleaning up the documentation. I
> think it would be a great idea to arrange it in order to publish a book about
> Liquidsoap along with the 1.0 release. Websites such as lulu.com make it
> really easy to publish a cheap book (< 10€) at virtually no cost for us. The
> idea would be more or less to concatenate all the documentation in
> http://savonet.sourceforge.net/doc-svn/documentation.html, make it
> homogeneous + proof-read it, add a gentle introduction to Liquidsoap, and
> select a subset of the reference API. We are starting to have quite many
> users and I'm sure that it would help to be able to learn about Liq in the
> metro / on the beach / far away from the internet distractions.
> What do you think? If you are motivated I could start something of the hg but
> I would clearly need your help on the technical parts...
