I don't have any real objection, but I don't like it so much. It is
dangerous to try to add a new feature for each request: we must keep in
mind the consistency of our software, to keep it maintainable. Beware the
spaghetti monster :)
It seems to me that the need for implicit request rewriting is mostly
needed for playlists. For request queues and external requests, they are
often generated by scripts which can be adapted. For singles, it does not
hurt to rewrite a single URI. So, instead of adding a wide implicit
rewriting, why not add this only for the playlist operator?
Also, I would put an entry about the rewriting in the request's log, to
minimize the risk that it goes unnoticed.
