 Ok, I can clearly reproduce.

 The deadlock seems to come from the non-buffered mode, where everything
 takes place in the same thread.

 Before I start to dig the issue, could you try in buffered mode ? adding
 {{{buffer_size = 1}}} instead of {{{buffer_size = 0}}}. I think it would
 result in the same latency, but it should work better.

 Also, probably setting 2 is even better.

 In case this fixes the issue, I think we can simply remove the
 "unbuffered" mode, it was a hack and should have the same latency has
 {{{buffer_size = 1}}}.
